Vanwege het coronavirus heeft de rijksoverheid, op advies van het RIVM, op zondag 15 maart besloten dat er minimaal t/m 6 april geen georganiseerde sportactiviteiten kunnen plaatsvinden. Op 31 maart is deze maatregel verlengd t/m 28 april. Daarnaast is er op maandag 23 maart besloten dat er t/m 1 juni geen evenementen georganiseerd mogen worden. Deze maatregelen zorgen ook in de acrogymsport voor veel gemiste trainingstijd en het niet meer kunnen plannen van een volwaardig wedstrijdseizoen. De KNGU heeft daarom het besluit moeten nemen om de rest van het wedstrijdseizoen te annuleren.
